Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Playing out from the back

Description

Session Set Up 

11v11 on a full pitch.

2 sets of 10 minutes and 3 minutes rest in between.

The red team is going to play 4 3 3  which include four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.

The green team will be playing 4 3 3 which also includes, four defenders, three midfielders and three

forward. 

DESCRIPTION 

The red team is going to play out from the back using RW/LW if successful, they'll score in an open goal post.

The green team will be pressing to defend against it. if successful, they'll as well score in an open goal post.

CHALLENGE & TARGET 

The red team continually try to play out from the back, their right back will be taking green team LW away for the

green team RW to receive the ball. While the green team is making a pressing make it hard for them.

PROBLEM 

the green team LW stop following  red team RB 

SOLUTION

the red team RB will continue to drip into midfield to create overload 

and receive the ball to play out from there.

COACHING intervention 

walk-through 

encouraging red team to keep on using RB/LB to now create overload in the midfield 

to be able to play out from the back.
