Pressuring to Win Possesion
Split into 3 Even Teams. White, Navy, Black
Black team (defensive team) split into group of 3 and be responsible for pressuring one group of players.
Coach plays ball into one grid and black team tries to win possession back asap. Once that ball is won, the 3 black defenders recover at a slower rate back to thier starting positions. Out of a total of 8/10/12/14 balls played, The goal is to be the team that takes the least amount of time to win possession of those x amount of balls.
Work Rate: Sprint and put immense pressure on attackers without being beat on the dribble. Recover and rest once you return back to your starting spot.

Defening 2 v 3
20 x 20 grid.
2 Blue players play ball into 3 white players and defend 3 v 2.
If white dribbles through red gates, +1
If they dribble / pass into pug net, + 2 (if no pug net, put ball on a cone for the kids to knock off)
Defending team must :
1. Claim who is putting pressure on the ball
2. Player who is pressuring must force the ball towards their teammate
3. Covering defender must protect middle of the field and ready to step up if teammate gets beat with a pass / dribble.
4. Other defender must be in covering position
If Blue wins the ball, they can try to dribble across green line for + 2 points

3 v 3 + 2 Possession vs Pressure
Two teams play 3 v 3 in 20 x 20 yard grid with two target players on either side of it. The Possession focused team (white) will try to transfer the ball from one target to the other to gain a goal. The Pressure team (blue team) will try to win the ball back and counter attack the pug nets as soon as possible. Blue can also use the target players when needed in possesion to help create overloads.
Team Pressuring : High pressure to win the ball back, defensive organization when pressing to ensure proper cover and do not allow players to get isolated. Quick transition to create a shooting opporutnity when the ball is won back.
Team Possession: Angles of support, body shape to open up possession, maintain team shape / structure, transition when losing possession to prevent the opposition from scoring.

Possesion vs Pressure
Same drill as before, just larger numbers, with two big nets involved with keepers. Can add neutrals in middle of grid if needed.

5 v 2
5 v 2/ 6 v 2 : Focus on Immediate Pressure and Cover
Split into two teams. One team in each grid and with balls to the outside of the grid. On coaches go, two players from blue grid will run into opposite grid to defend, and likewise for the white team.
Once one defender wins the ball and dribbles outside the grid, that defender sprints back to their original grid to communicate with another player to sprint and take their place as defender.
Since focusing on defensive habits, keep the focus on the defensive goals. First team to win possession and dribble outside of the box 5 times, wins.
Defensive Objective:
Defensive Organization when pressing. Pressure and Cover the Split Pass
Don't go alone. Make The Next Pass Predictable.
When to step to Win Posession: Bad First Touch or Player in Possession Back is to you. Once you win possesion, break liines quickly through the dribble or combining with teammate.
Offense Objective:
Players in possession are in a Diamond + 1 Central Player formation to emphasize width, depth and central options. Short options on the ball to provide good angels while stretch out defenders for split pass. Once you lose possesion, can you put IMMEDIATE PRESSURE on the ball
