LONG BLOCK TECHNIQUE:
Same set up as previous drill expect now Player A,B,C toss the ball lower for the GK's to extend their leg, foot and hand to catch the ball while sitting back almost like they are sitting back on their butts. Hand that is not catching the ball needs to be brought forward and out to their side.(swooping motion like a large bird does when landing keeping their body forward) After performing the long block both right and left the GK gets up quickly and sprints to the ball by A,B,C and dives hands first.
Change the direction of the drill after a set number of reps.
PROGRESSION:
Same set up as above except when ball is tossed to the right hand the left leg/foot extend out. So opposite foot opposite hand.
COACHING POINTS:
-Flexibility.
-Weight Forward.
Sitting back with butt low to ground.
-Swooping forward motion with arms.
-Palms facing out.
-Deny Space

GK sets in line with player C,B. Player A passes to player B who takes a touch around player C. GK needs to steal space when A passes to B to close down the space. Sending on the first touch that player B takes with the Ball, the GK needs to decide whether to block(B keeps ball at feet), or B takes big touch away from feet GK dives hands first to the ball.
Player B can take the first touch to their right or left to go around player C.
GK needs to decide what type of save to make Short Block, Long block or hands to the ball dive.
PROGRESSION:
Same as above except now after GK makes first save they have to get, recovery movement and try to make a save from player A who shoots from distance.
COACHING POINTS:
-Steal space when the ball is moving.
-Decision on what type of save to make based off of first touch and distance to the ball.
-Body weight forward, hands forward .
-Quick recovery to feet to defend next shot

WARM-UP & DIVING ACTIVATION:-Goalkeepers get in a tight circle based off of number of GK's. GK's play key it up with only allowing the ball to bounce once before hitting the ball with their hand to keep the ball in the air. 2-3 minutes.
Partner pass between legs for hamstring, glute stretch with hands behind the ball.
-Diving Activation, side rockers. 10performed on each side. (GK lays on their side starting with upper body in an upright side on position. Partner has a ball at their feet and plays a pass to the side that the GK is laying on for the GK shoot hands to the ball to make a save. Then using top hand to roll the ball back to partners foot and then repeat for 10 on each side then switch out)
SHORT BLOCK TECHNIQUE WARM UP:
-GK Starts on knees. Players A,B,C each have a ball in their hands and a ball on the ground to the side of them. Players A,B,C toss the ball to the GK"s right side around shoulder height, for the GK to catch with the right hand while stepping with their right foot so their knee is up off the ground while rotating their hips for their left leg and foot to pivot to 90 degrees to deny space behind them. GK then tosses the ball back and reacts to their left side. After they toss the ball back they push off of their left foot and sprint to the ball that is at playerThen trade s A,B,C feet and dive hands first to the ball.GK's then change roles with with player A,B,C.
Change the direction of the drill after set number of reps.
COACHING POINTS:

-Hands and feet should be connected so to speak.
-Proper push off of front foot to accelerate to the ball.
-Bend knees and shoot both hands to the ball
-Dive through he ball.
