Organization:
Groups of 3 to 4, Attacking player shown in Blue, 2 5 yard gates set up as shown.
- mini goal behind defender
Instructions:
Defending player plays into the attacking player, and immediately presses the attacking player on their first touch. Attacking player looks to score by dribbling through line and finishing on the goal. If defender wins ball they get a point for dribbling it past the opposite end line.
- 6 seconds to finish
- Def - 3 seconds to finish after recovering
Coaching Points:
Attacking player head up to assess where the open gate is. If we don't have our head up we will not know where the space to attack.
-Drive at the defending player to commit them, if we drive directly at them they don't know where we intend on attacking.
-Scissor Technique: Foot pointed towards ground, scissor as close to ball as possible to increase speed of the move. Drive with the foot that you intend to do the first scissor with. Getaway touch is out of the tackling radius and into space.
