Learning to keep possession of the ball as a team by giving accurate passes abd scoring and defenders preventinng the other team from mainatining possession for the duration and how it can be related to game situation.

Practice organisation:
Area 35x25yds with goals set up at each end
Practice starts with goalkeepers in each end and 4 attackers v 1 defender on each pitch.
Additional defenders wait to join the game.
Key coaching points:
Recognition of knowing when and where to pass
Encourage players to create space and find good supporting positions.
Move the ball quickly with a good first touch.
If the game is directional: Encourage players to recognize when to keep possession and when to look to attack.
Details:
Size of the area can be adapted to suit the age and ability of players
Attacking team try to keep possession from the defender. Once they make 3 consecutive passes, an additional defender joins the game
Defenders keep increasing as the attackers makes more passes
If defenders can win the ball they try to score in either goal.

Simple progression:
Start with two defenders
Attacking team keep possession and try to score in a designated goal.
The blues in posession progress play to each end, passing the ball to the goal keeper before receiving the ball back and progressing play the opposite play
When the ball is successfully played into one of the goalkeepers another red defender enters the practice.
If one of the defenders intercepts/tackles they attack either goal.

Small sided games:
Referring back to the amount of players being used in the blocked practice,
Start with 10 outfield players and include two extra keepers.
Points are being given if a team makes five accurate passes and score a goal from that move will be awarded seven points for their efforts.
Any defensive effort from any team obstructing any attacking move or possession game will be granted extra three points.
If a team who has more numerical players are finding it easy in order to make it more competitive, Include extra two players to the other team to be evenly balanced and more in tensed.

10-12 players are involved in this session.
4v6 with the four players representing reds and the other six representing the blues
Each player from the two teams are aiming to keep possession within the circular area.
If it becomes a bit too easy for the team in blues because they have more players which makes them more comfortable in possession.
Add two more players to the team in red so that they could be even in number.
Both teams will be able to improve in their passing and movement ability within a small playing area.
Communication is very important.
Coaching points:
Ability to move to space and receive the ball.
Accurate passing.
Ability to communicate with one another.
