Organization:
Set up as shown. 3 teams of 4. Lots of balls
Instructions:
Red and Yellow team play together against blue team. Blue team cannot leave their area shown. The Red team must pass the ball around to try and create a gap / space to get the ball through to the Yellow team. The Blue team must cover and slide across to close all gaps and stop any through balls.
If the defending team get possession of the ball they pass it to the team who did not give it away and change places with thet team that gave them the ball.
Coaching Points:
(1). Angle of support (making sure you are able to stop the penetrative pass/shot)
(2). Distance of support (making sure that you are able to tackle the attacker immediately if the 1st defender is beaten)
Progressions:
(1). Defenders stay in Red shaded zone and move according to location of ball. Allow defender to enter into attacking area on 5+ passes.

Challenge - Possession Rondos - can the player receiving check the shoulder on every receive and play using their back foot to go forwards. if the forward option is not on, can they bounce pass someone to move forward. outside target players must only receive using weaker foot and ideally play weaker foot when possible.
Learning Outcomes - warm up game to get players into good habbits of using body movement before receiving to keep the ball undder control. vary pass type and distances to include driven, curved, lofted, at different pace
