GK is responsible for: only available for the first 30 minutes. Individual work & warm-ups with the 2 goalkeepers (visible via Veo's interactive mode)

Main principles (DA):

  • Rest attack - have players ahead of the ball (forward options) whilst defending
  • Defend to create chances - 10 seconds to score in transition
  • 1 or 2 touch play in the final third - create chances early & quickly to finish with a shot
  • Give & go - make a forward run after giving a pass, in order to create a new passing option
  • Relative (minimal) width - wide players should be only as wide as necessary, in order to create dangerous options ahead of goal
Supporting principles (DD):
  • Cover shadow - cover a passing option whilst getting closer to the opponent that has the ball
  • Ball-oriented press - restrict opponents into one quarter (or side) of the pitch
  • Create a +1 around the ball whilst pressing
