Sole Roll to beat a defender: Edgemont Jaguars U8B

Organization:
A) Two lines on each sides of the cones. Players dribble to cones, preform a sole roll around the cones. Every player has a ball. Channels are 30x15
B) One gate set up opposite attacking line (yellow player), one line of defenders set up halfway along the touchline of grid. Players switch lines after they go.
Instructions:
A) Players make eye contact and game is live when attacker makes first movement. Attacker tries to get through either gate without being tagged for a point and defenders get a point for making a tag. Players switch lines after they go.
B) Players make eye contact, and defender goes. As soon as defender clears the double cones, attacker can start. Attacker (Yellow) tries to get through the gate behind defender for a point. Defender attempts to tag attacker for a point. Players switch lines after they go. (Motor skill game to start, then add ball for 1v1s)
Coaching Points:
* Have attacking players use the bottom of their foot to sole roll
* Attacker's have three options; Beat them, fake them, and turn/change direction
* Small touches when close to cone with foot to preform the sole soll
* The three E's of the move (Entrance, Execution and Exit)
Progressions:
1) From activity (A) to activity (B)
2) Add ball to activity (B) and change it to a 1v1

Field as above. Feild approximatley 30x40. Two pugg goals on each end.
Instructions:
4v4 Festival rules. Kick ins, defending team behind the white line on goal kicks
Coaching Points:
* Defender in front with opposite momentum? Cue for Sole Roll
* Using body to protect ball
* Attacking 1v1s with speed
* Help players understand the rules of the game

Instructions:
Players dribble in the area after listening to coaches command. Coach will use a variety of touches and different dribbling techniques:
-Inside touches
-Outside touches
-Strong/weak foot touches
-Soll roll touches
-Laces touches
-Sole Roll/Step Over Review
Coaching Points:
* Qaulity touches on the ball
* Eyes up after every touch to watch out for other players
* Short 'Messi' touches to keep the ball close, big 'Ronaldo' touches to push the ball into space to go faster
Progressions:
1) Knockout in the same area (players must control their ball while trying to knock other players balls out of the area with poke tackles
2) Split game (players must dribble through two players, and then take big touches to the edge of the area for a point
