Warm-up10 mins

Teach thechoice of pass to keep possession and or progress- WARM UP(10 minutes)

Include Dynamic Warm-up (Stretching while moving).

Organization

25 yards by 15 yards.

12 players involved.

Equipment needed:

9 cones to mark the area.

2 pinnies

soccer balls.

Explanation:

- Split field up into 2grids
- 10v 2
- If defender wins ball, they switch with the player who had last touch
- If ball goes out of grid, coach serves back in
- Team in possession can pass tobothsides of grid

Coaching points:

Support = angle and distance
Mobility – timing of movement
Scan before they receive
Receive on back foot
Decision – making
Weight of the pass
Speed of play

5 Steps for Intervening during session to teach.

Freeze, recreate, demo, rehearse, go live.

Validate players positively.

Interventions are short & specific.

Too many can impact the flow of the session.

Organization:

35 yards by 40 yards.

12 players involved.

Equipment needed:

Smaller sized nets

Soccer balls 

Pinnies 

8 cones to mark area 

Explanation:

4 v 4 plus 2 N
Ball restarts with Gkwhose team did not touch it last
If Team scores , their GK starts with the ball

Neutral players aid possession & may not score.

Organization:

Split the field up into 3grids.

18 yards by 10 yards by 18 yards. 

12 players involved 

Equipment needed:

14 cones to mark the area.

Soccer balls

Explanation:

4V4V4
Players in either end zone, try and passthe ball to the other end zone
1 defender goes in as soon as ball is passed to try and win the ball
if defender wins ball, play back to coach or teammates in middle zone
If team in end zone loses ball to defender or it goes outside of grid,they become team in middle zone.
