First touch and Speed of Action (15 mins)

First Touch into Space and Speed of Action. 

Set up a 5x5 square and a 12x10 rectangle around it. 

With a team mate, get them to pass the ball into you, can you have 1 touch to get out of the 5x5 square and a second touch to get out the 12x10 rectangle. 

Vary the direction you are having your first touch so you can practice opening up your hips and play off of both feet. 

Bend knees and have a soft first touch, make sure you receive on the move. Don't have a touch and then move, make the touch and move one movement. 

Think about how you can accelerate slow down and then accelerate again. Have little steps and big steps.

1v1 Attacking (20 mins)

1v1 Attacking, Attacking Space. 

With a team mate develop your ability to attack space quickly. 

Your team mate will stand 10 yards away and play a backwards diagonal pass to you, Can you then beat them down the line and cut the ball back into the mini goal. 

Your first touch needs to be positive and forward, Don't stop and slow down, use yours speed and pace to force them as far down the pitch as you can. Lift your eyes and see the space around and past the opponent for you to drive into. 

Keep the ball on your safe side, this will allow you to carry the ball and not be tackled if the opponent gets close. 

Once in the final third can you find a pass into the goal or can yo use tricks and disguise to get past the opponent. 

Vienna has a similar ILP so would be good to work with her on this.
