Session Organization:
Grid setup as shown with ball per player and spare balls on the side. Grid size to suit age group (small to create move decision making opportunities)
Explanation:
1) Players RWB around cone to the Right and back to the start,
2) Players then RWB around the cone to the Left and back to start
Progression:
3) Players then RWB around the Right cone, then the Left cone and back to the start,
Players then RWB around the Left cone, then the Right cone and back to the start.
Evaluation:
Players need to keep getting their head to check for other players.
Players need to focus on ball control, speed of ball etc.
Am I using the correct part of the foot at the appropriate time?
Players will need to focus on ball speed when Left & Right direction changes are activated, may need to speed up, slow down or stop the ball momentarily.

Session Organization:
10m x 10m grid with cones or mini goals as shown. Players split into 2 teams Red & Blue and setup as above.
Explanation:
Each player defends 2 sets of cones or mini goals as shown.
Play is started when Blue player passes the ball to the Red player, which then becomes an active 1v1 situation.
Once this play concludes with either a goal or the ball going out of the playing area, the second pair of players do the same, and so on.
Progression:
Both sets of players are active, 2 x 1v1 at the same time.
Coach serves an aerial ball to the attacker, the aerial ball is the trigger for the defender to close down the opponent, hence increasing the difficulty.
Evaluation:
Verbal and non-verbal communication
touch away from defender - drive into space
use of body to protect ball (attacking)
body shape (defending)
can I use body to delay the attacker or change direction of attacker
speed of movement with the ball (attacking)
speed of movement to close the space (defending)
look for poor touch, slowing of ball to pinch

Explanation:
A) Start at Player 1, player 1 passes to player 2, player 2 receives the pass and plays pass to player 3, player 3 receives pass and then plays pass to player 4. Player 4 then dribbles ball back to start passing the ball back to next player at 1. All players follow their pass. (as per animation).
Use multiple balls if number of players permit.
Progression:
B) Start at player 1, player 1 passes to player 3, player 3 receives pass and plays pass back to player 2, player 2 receives pass and plays pass to player 4. Player 4 dribbles ball back to start passing the ball back to next player at 1. All players follow their pass. ( as per animation)
Use multiple balls if player numbers permit.

Maximum number of touches allowed.
3 passes before scoring.
Can't score from inside own half of field.

Striking the Ball - Activation (10 mins)
Session Organization:
Players are setup in 4 groups, with a target box in the middle of the grid. Balls at each end.
Explanation:
Coach to go through various passing patterns, using middle target box player. (i.e target player with back to defender)
Unopposed to allow plenty of repetition to players to work on skill execution.
A 3rd man running example is shown in animation.
Change target player out every 2mins.
Progression:
Can we complete passing with one touch.
Evaluation:
