5v5 Game with counterattacks
Team 1 always starts in possession playing 4v3 in the opponents half with the objective of scoring a goal. Team 2 leaves two attacking players in the opponents half in preparation for a counter attack. If Team 2 wins the ball, they must complete two passes in their half before playing into their counterattacking players. Once they do this, all players are allowed free movement until Team 1 wins the ball.
Objective: Guard against counterattacks through counterpressing and good positioning
Coaching Points:
- Maintain balance through positioning in preparation for counterpressing
- 1st defender forces the opponents build up into wide areas
- Covering defenders prevent forward passes through interceptions
- If the ball can't be won in 3 seconds, maintain compactness and set traps for the opponent.
Rotate players every 2 games.
