Organization:
10 x 10 area's, 2 players per area
Instructions:
- Players play knee tag. If you tag opponents knee then you score the point or if you manage to force them out of the area without touching them.
- Players play for 2 minutes before moving to play new opponent.
Coaching Points:
- On toes

Progressions:
Addition of ball to create 1 vs 1 game. 4 grids turn into 2.

Organization:
Same set up; but 4 squares turn to 2 grids
Instructions:
- Player plays pass to the attacker; attacker tries to get across the endline.
- Defender has to close space down and prevent attacker from crossing the endline.
Coaching Points:
- Close space quickly; slow down as you get closer to the attacker
- Bend run to cut off angle
- On toes
- Bend knees
- Side body shape
- Patience

Organization:
1. 40x30 yard area - two end zones 2x30 yards
2. 12 players - 6 to 8 attackers and 6 to defenders (set up as shown)
3. 1 ball
Instructions:
1. The activity starts by four defending players crossing the halfway line and running back to touch the attacking team’s end zone.
2. The objective for the attacking team is to penetrate into the end zone with either a pass or a dribble.
3. Offside rules do apply
4. If the defending team wins the ball there objective is to pass forward to their waiting teams mates (strikers)
5. The attacking team then transitions over to become the defending team and the action is then repeated in the opposite half
Coaching Points:
1. Defensive group to stay compact - shift as group as ball is played sideways
2. Step to reduce space when ball is played backwards or sideways
3. Press as group
4. Commication and organisation

Stay connected and compact - distance between players

Force play wide and reduce attacking team to shots from distance
Step forward to close space - GK moves up for balls through
Open up in transition

Juggling Warm-Up (15 mins)
Organization:
30x40 yard grid, each Player with a ball.
Instructions:
Players work in pairs. Set number of touches allowed. Player to misplay the ball, a point is given to the other player. Play for a fixed time, winners move up to play a new player.
Coaching Points:
- Players try to improve their touches (suppleness, control and foot-eye coordination) by juggling with different surfaces of their feet & body.
