Animation 1 (20 mins)

ORGANISATION:

  • 4 Boxes of 3x3, Start with 3v2 and 1 attacker in the other 3 boxes

HOW TO PLAY:

  • The 3 reds get 3 passes and then look to switch the ball to another box and there must always be 3 red attackers and the two blue defenders defend each box.

COACHING POINTS:

  • Look for the two defenders to work together, first one slow play down, work together on boxing one of the players in. Scanning, movement, first touch and striking the ball.

CHANGE IT / PROGRESSIONS:

  • 3v2 might be tough so look at 4v2 or if to easy reduce the box size.

Game Training (20 mins)

ORGANISATION:

  • 4v4+2 two small goals and two outside bounces as field players and 20x20 grid.

HOW TO PLAY:

  • Must play outside two players before trying to score

COACHING POINTS:

  • Scanning, movement, hitting the wide players and maintain possession. 

CHANGE IT / PROGRESSIONS:

  • Size of grid or 5v3+2

Training Game (20 mins)

ORGANISATION:

  • 8v8 two small goals, 20x20 area

HOW TO PLAY:

  • Start 2v2, both players must touch the ball before hitting the wide players, when the pass to the wide player they come into the game, this continues till all your players are in and then your team can score.

COACHING POINTS:

  • Scanning, movement, looking for the switch

CHANGE IT / PROGRESSIONS:

  • Make teams pass minimum times before allowing outside players to join in.
