Batman Training
Session based on having extra room outside on 3G or grass.
Make use of space by setting up progressions of games in separate area's to minimise setup time & waiting within session*if space allows
Assistants to be alert at all times & encourage participation from all players.
Group sizes maybe big so coach needs to be loud, energetic & organised.
Bring players in & ask them which superhero wears a cape...Batman. Let them know they are going to train to become Batmen & Batgirls in this session.
Warm up setup -
Set up an area which is big enough for all players to dribble around comfortably.
One ball per player
Warm up walkthrough - Batman training
Have all players in the middle & explain they need to dress like Batman, simulate putting the outfit on & checking for the cape
Now they have to check the garage, they are all given a Batmobile to drive with
Players start dribbling around the area not clashing into anybody else's Batmobile
Coach to build up the session by adding new parts every couple of minutes
When the coach shouts -
Joker - Players freeze
Charge up the Batmobile - Side to sides
Climb up the buildings in Gotham - Toe taps
Patrol Gotham - Forward Rolls
Coach to add one cone per player & scatter them around the area
Progression -
When the coach shouts 'Find Robin' players have to dribble to an empty cone & stop their ball next to it before continuing to dribble on the coaches command.
Coaching Points -
Close control, small touches, scanning for space/players/empty cones, change direction, use both feet, listening skills, reaction skills
The players Batman training is now complete, they are going off to fight enemies in Gotham City.
