Organisation:
-All players
-Area: quarter of the field
Players dribble through throughout the area to and from different pylons. Practicing ball mastery skills, 1v1 moves, and keep-ups.
Coaching Points:
-Agility, balance, changing speeds/directions
-Close control, lots of touches, use of moves, changes of speed/directions
-Awarness of space/players around them

Organization:

-area approx. 15x15 yards (adapt for age/ability/numbers)
-Play start with 2 opposite players running around their net, with coach passing ball in to first player, to play 1v1. Players can score in either goal at the opposition end, if defender wins the ball they transition to attack opposite net. Sequence continues.
Possible variations/progression:
-extra points for certain moves
-must score within 10 seconds
Coaching Points:
-close dribbling in tight areas
-accelerate/rwb into open spaces
-speed and quick change of direction moves
-get head up to scan for space, goal, players
-use of both feet and all surfaces of feet
-accurate/quick finishing

-Similiar to 1v1 exercise. On coaches signal ("red"/"yellow") players must touch that cone run around their net, with coach passing ball in to first team, to play 2v2. Players can score in either goal at the opposition end, if defender wins the ball they transition to attack opposite net. Sequence continues.
Possible variations/progression:
-extra points for certain moves
-must score one touch from a pass
Coaching Points:
-all 1v1 points
-2v2 - when to pass/when to dribble, suck defender in, angle/distance of support, movement with and without the ball, weight and accuracy of passing, simple combinations, decision-making, communication

-4v4/5v5 small-side game. PLay with full rules - retreat line, dribble/kicks in, etc
Possible variations/progressions:
-player that kicks ball out must get it and return it to you - creates an overload for the other team

Field Set-Up
Girls will be setting up on back side of the field
-Arrival Activity - players should begin as they arrive after putting drinks, jackets, etc on far bench.
-5 Minutes in to start, bring players in a do attendance.
-Break them up into their 3 groups - may need to equal some groups out depending on numbers
-Rotate activities every 15-17 minutes - take drinks in betweeen transitions.
Theme of the session is different 1v1 situations. What to do when faced with beating a player in different areas of the field. What moves to use? When? Why?
