RUNNING WITH THE BALL

DRIBBLING: RUNNING WITH THE BALL

30X30 or needed

12 players each with a ball. Each side is assigned a number. Coach calls out a number 1 or 2 and players on the corresponding sides run with the ball to the opposite side

Progression:

  • Now half the players are inside the grid, server plays them a ball and they have to receive it and speed dribble the ball to another outside player and leave it at their feet. Repeat
  • One point is given every time a ball is dribbled and left at a teammates feet

Coaching Points

  • Head up eye up
  • Positive first touch out of the feet
  • Play with the laces of the foot closest to the ball
