For the u17 players who will not play in the match on Wednesday. A tough session that will include a lot of running as they will have Wednesday free and prepare for the match on Saturday. The match on Wednesday will be for the 2010, trialists and 2009 players coming back from injury, I want to see how players react and who wants to make an impact and can stand up against the challenge against a good team.
Most likely around 12 players and then 18-20 will go for the first pre season match. Same session can be used for the u16 match without the 2v2 fitness drill. At the end of the session do corners and set pieces (Uhlik can prepare this) so that everybody knows what they are doing for the match.

2v2v2 Bago with 2 zones. Pitch size: 20x20, but I am not 100% sure about this.
It does not have to be super high intensity, but the correct actions must be made, it is part of the warm up. 90 seconds and then the defensive team will swap.
Players must pass from zone to zone as fast as possible. Only 1 player (blue) is allowed to defend in each box to create a 2v1. This should be quite easy for the players to do and there are no limits on the passes or touches required before passing into each zone.
Progression:
2v2 and the defenders (blue) can move into each zone however they want, this means it will be more difficult but there will be more space to move around and attack. Make sure that players are moving the ball quickly and not trying to dribble and create 1v1 situations, this is not what we want.

2v2 with a fitness focus.
Players will start on the edge of the pitch in groups of 2. They must sprint through the gate and the coach will pass the ball in and the gates become goals. Players can pass or dribble through the gate in order to score a goal. As soon as the ball goes out or a goal is scored, the next group must start running through. Get through the gate and then score on the big goal without any pressure.
The amount of repetitions and time depends on how many players we have for this session. Most likely each team will have 5 rounds and then there will be a break. This is will be a tough drill but it is fitness with the ball and competition, which the players will enjoy a lot more rather then just running from box to box.
Coaching:
Staying calm on the ball and not rushing things because you are tired, making good decisions under pressure and fatigue.
Creativity and dribbling, go into 1v1 situations and make something happen. Do not be scared to dribble, this is about finding ways to get past your opponent. Combinations with the ball and rotations without the ball are very important, make sure to promote this.
Not standing still when we have passed the ball, straight away make a run or get on the ball again.

Unopposed shooting.
2 players run past the cones and then will try to score on the goal after receiving a cross from the red players.
Left footed player and right footed player on both sides. 5 minutes rounds and then swap the players crossing.
Practicing technique and scoring from crosses, something that we really struggled with last year. No defenders only pressure to score off 1 touch.

Warm up
Basic warm up where half of the players are outside of the circle without a ball and half of them are inside. Players will run through the middle box and do a dynamic stretch until they reach the outside players. Simple 1 touch pass on the ground or in the air.
Progression:
Once everybody is warmed up, competition to who can do 5 passes and reach the box fastest.
When coach blows the whistle, players must go to an orange cone on the outside as fast as possible, then players switch positions.
2 touches, header, chest, volley, and many other options to pass.
10 minutes and then into 2v2v2 with more intensity.
