3 parts of applying pressure to focus on in game
1- TRY TO FORCE MISTAKES *strikers
Success is not determined by winning ball
What we look to force:
- bad touches
- misplaced passes
- kicking ball out of play
2- FORCE THE PLAY into more predictable areas *midfielders
Forcing play into more predictable areas of the pitch makes it easier to quickly win possession
e.g. If the striker curves his run and presses the centre back on the ball, the midfield and defender of his own team will recognise and close down the midfielder of the opposing team by anticipating that is where the ball is likely to be played
3- WIN THE BALL BACK *defenders
