High intensity Warm-up, Counter attacking (10 mins)

Start with 1v1. After each play ends a player from team A enters the game creating a 2v1, the alternative player then joins to make a 2v2. Play goes on in this manner until all players are on the pitch. Play is then repeated with the other team getting the overload advantage.

Coaching Points:

* Direction of player in position

* Run options for additional players (create space)

* Pass vs dribble decisions

No progressions required for the warm up version.

Counter Attacking - Earn the Right (25 mins)

8v8 two directional play. Counter attacking focus.

Yellow team fed ball from coach, try to score in big goal. Reds defending. Should reds win the ball they have to get it into small nets. Success means the teams swap roles, reds now attacking big goals, yellows defending.

Potential Condition: Team playing towards small goals must cross red line before going for goal (to avoid long clearances becoming the norm).

Coaching points:

* Speed of counter attack

* Looking for mistakes/gaps in opposition and exploiting

* Communication to ensure success
