Organization:

1 Player, 1 Ball.

Instructions:

Every player has a ball and our encouraged to penetrate the gaps between the other players on the field.

Coaching Points:

1. Small touches to keep the ball close

2. Head up as much as possible

3. Identifying gaps on the field to penetrate

4. Identifying if the gaps close (change direction)

Screen 2

Organization:

6 cones, 3 lines and 3 players per group.

Instructions:

Players dribbe to 1 of the corner cones on the middle line and perform a inside twist off before dribbling to end line and performing a outside twist off.

Progression - 1 player on each line. Player B checks to create a trianlge, Player A passes to Player B, Player B opens out and passes to Player C. Player C drives into sapce, Player B closes space, Player C performs twist off. Player C then drives into space on end line and Player A closes spae, Player B performs a 2nd twist off.

Coaching Points:

1. Recognition of space to drive into and recognition of defender closing space

2. Recognition of space being available behind defender who is closing space

3. Getting non-kicking foot ahead of ball on twist off

4. Small 1st touch to protect ball

5. Bigger 2nd touch to pick head up and accellerate

6. End Product

Progressions:

Progression 2 - Defenders can now defend. The objective is for the player who receives the ball to dribble and beat both players who can only defend like a fussball player and move across their line.

Progression 3 - Same as above but the 1st defender can move on the 1st touch of the attacker and the 2nd defener can move once the player dribbles over the end line

Organization:

20 x 30 with a end zone

Instructions:

The white team attacks and the blue team defends, once the attacker scores by stopping the ball in the end zone they immediately defend and a new blue player attacks. The process continues.

Coaching Points:

1. Recognition of defender (space being more on one side than the other, then drive into space)

2. Recognition of defender (if defender is central, drive at them)

3. Attack defenders front foot if you are driving at them

4. Bigger final touch of any move to accellerate past player

5. Positive 1st touch to attack space at speed

Instructions:

Normal soccer rules but players are not allowed to pass the ball forward.

Coaching Points:

1. Positive attitude of players to drive forward

2. Recognition of whether they are driving forward at players or into space

3. Movement of players to create space and passing lanes foward

4. Recognition of players not able to go forward so creating supporting angles behind
