Warm up
Circle of cones, one for each player attending. Ask the children to stand at a cone each to make a circle. Go around the circle asking each child their name and putting a ball on their cone.
Stretch- ask everyone to pick up their ball and hold the ball as high as they can. Up to the sky. On your tippy toes. Now stretch down to the ground and touch your toes.
Body parts- name different body parts for the children to put their ball on working your way down to the feet.
Who can put the ball on their head?
Who can put their ball on their nose?
Who can put their ball on their ear?
Belly?
knee?
can you hold the ball between your knees?
can you do it with no hands and wiggle?
can you put the ball on your foot?
can you put your foot on the ball?
Now ask them to try and change feet and count. Arms out to balance changing feet doing toe taps.
Can we move the ball between our feet with little kicks?
Can we move around the hall like a penguin?
I'm going to sing a song while we do our penguin parade.
" have you ever seen a penguin come for tea? Penguins attention"
when I say Penguins attention put your foot on the ball.
Well done off we go again
"Have you ever seen a penguin come for tea? Penguins attention. Penguins salute"
they walk like a penguin then stop the ball and salute.
Fantastic guys this time were going to march on the ball doing our toe taps changing feet 5 times.
This time after the march I'm going to call a colour and you try and find that colour cone and place your ball on it.
When everyone has found a cone count to three and then they can kick the ball off the cone.
Repeat until all colours have been done.
Ask the players to leave their balls and collect the cones in and put on the correct pile at the side.
