Activity 1 (10 mins)

SET UP:

16 Players
Time: 10mins
Pitch Size: 30ftx20ft
4 teams of 4 (Blues, Reds, Whites, Greens)
Each team will combine to play through the thirds unopposed. Once they have played through into the final zone, they will then attack the other end zone and continue to play through the thirds.
Each player has to touch the ball before progressing into the next phase of play

KEY POINTS:

Communication
Utilising all the space - not using one channel
Body Shape when receiving
Thinking about our next pass before we receive
What's the message of the pass?
Timing of movement when coming onto the pass

Activity 2 (20 mins)

SET UP:

16 Players
Time: 20mins
Pitch Size: 30ftx20ft
4 teams of 4 (Blues, Reds, Whites, Greens)
1 team out of the 4 will now be defending and will have to intercept the ball as many times as possible, in the time given.
Every team will defend in the time given. The team with the least interceptions will be given a forfeit
Pitch Size: 20ftx30ft
Each team will still combine, to play through the thirds opposed. Once they have played through into the final zone, they will then attack the other end zone and continue to play through the thirds.
Each player has to touch the ball before progressing into the next phase of play

KEY POINTS:

Considering the points reinforced from the first activity
How can we stretch the opposition? - vertically/horizontally?
When do we need to scan now the activity is opposed?
Do we always have to play short?
Can we combine quickly to try and play forward?

Activity 3 (30 mins)

SET UP:

8v8 conditioned game
Time: 30mins
Pitch Size: 30ftx20ft
2 teams
2v2 in 1st and 3rd zone, 3v3 in middle zone
Players can only stay in their allocated zone (to start off with)
Can only shoot/score in final end zone
Ball can be transferred into any zone

KEY POINTS:

Can we create forward passing lanes within the midfield unit to transfer the ball into the end zone?
Can we create emphasis to create a 3v2 in the 1st zone
Limiting touches to move the ball quicker
awareness and surroundings
Reinforcing what has been learnt in the previous activities

POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:

A player can move into the next zone after they have progressed the ball forward - after the ball is dead, the player will have to move back into their original allocated zone
