Functional Crossing/Finishing (20 mins)

Activity: Crossing/Finishing

Set up: See diagram

Instructions:

2 teams: blue team is defending. Left side shown: Defender plays the ball line to outside attacker to cross, the defender can put pressure on the ball when its touched. 2 attackers in the middle make runs into box and 2 blue defender can defend cross, all three defenders are live when ball is passed.

Change angle of defender as seen on opposite side. defender comes from the front not behind.

Game: Crossing/Finishing (20 mins)

4v4 on the inside, two attackers on the outside past the cones closest to the goal they are attacking. 1st you must score from a one touch cross from an outside player. 2nd must score after an outside player touches the ball. 3rd the outside players can get involved only when their team has the ball, otherwise free play. Play for time limit winner stays, also if you pass out to the outside player you have to replace them.
