Warm-up passing exercise (technical)
Set-up: 5 cones placed 12 yards apart at angles.
-2 balls, when the first ball reaches the third cone, play next ball
-Players play two touch passes from station to station
-Players follow pass with dynamic movements
-When ball reaches the end, last player dribbles at speed back to the beginning
Coaching Points:
-Receive across the body onto the second foot
-Body position open to the field
-Communicate 'man-on' or 'time'
-Checking movement from central midfielder
-Pace of the pass should be with high speed

Set Up:
5 players at a time, both ends of pitch working at the same time
Coach serves in a long pass/cross into the goalkeeper
Defending players compact and protect the goal
When the goalkeeper has possession, players spread to positions quickly
Coaching Points:
Back the GK up,
Spread to position quickly after the GK has collected

Set-up:
Goalkeeper distributes by finding the outside back with a throw
Outside backs spread as wide as possible and higher up the pitch
Center backs are positioned on the corners of the 18 yard box
Center midfielder is positioned between the two center backs
Coaching points:
- Pace of pass should be with high speed
- Provide proper angles so we are playing angled passes
- Body positioning open to the field
- Driven balls when switching play

5v3 + GK in playing area
Set-up:
GK begins with the ball either from the hands or a goalkick
Objective is for outside backs to dribble through the gates to score
Blue team is trying to prevent red from scoring
Blue attacks goal if they gain possession with red defending
Coaching points:
-Patience in the build up
-Find good supporting angles for ball circulation
-Switch point of attack when possible
-Body positioning open to the field

5v4 + 2 +GK
Set-up:
Goalkeeper starts in possession
Red team scores by passing through the arcs or in the mini goal
2 neutral players in yellow playing with the team that has possession
Blue attacks the goal if they win possession with red defending
Coaching Points:
-Patience in build-up
-When wide looking for opportunities to pass centrally
-When central looking or opportunities to pass wide
-Re-circulate possession through center backs and goalkeeper when necessary
