What:

Trying to win the ball and find the open person immediately.

Where:

Anywhere in the field. But here is the middle third.

Who:

#6, 8, 10

When:

When the opponent has the ball in the defensive middle third

Why:

Need to win the ball and find the most open person. Play the ball back. Keep posession.

Screen 1 (20 mins)

Organization:

60 x 30 box and 20 x 20 box inside the bigger box. players around and a player inside (from opposite team)

Instructions:

Blue team has the ball and has to pass the ball through the middle of the box to complete a pass. If red wins the ball, has to get out of the box to the next box as quickly as possible. Find the most open player.

Coaching Points/Questions:

Players in blue - who can you pass the ball in a tight space? How is your body shaped to receive the ball? Where is your first option? A: to the person most open away from the defenders. A : Body shaped at angle ready to receive the ball. A: Most open player.

Regressions/Progressions:

Progression: Add more players to the inside of the box if the players are successful in completing more than 10 passes. If they are not successful, make the square bigger.
