Curled Shooting Technique Isolated, Still, Off Dribble, off first touch (20 mins)

Organisation:

  • ball each
  • shot on goal stationary ball, rwtb, touch and shoot, and first time shot

Coaching Points:

  • 4-5 step run up to approach ball (90 degree angle example)
  • speed of runup dependent on power of shot
  • standing foot next to ball pointing to where you want the curl to start
  • strike off center of ball with instep of foot
  • wrap foot around side of ball
  • hips, shooting leg, turn towards target
  • land on shooting foot to generate more power

    • Winger rwtb at defender and cuts inside to finish
    • Winger plays 1-2 with defender close and takes touch inside to finish

Coaching Points:

  • RWTB with small nudge touches to approach defender
  • disguise movement outside to cut inside (drop the shoulder)
  • Specific aim  on goal dependent on angle created
  • use defender to hide ball and curl around to screen GK
  • reverse finish near post
  • FT inside to create space to finish
  • First time finish with slower weight of pass
