Breaking lines (20 mins)
Breaking lines drill
Objective:
Introduce the concept of breaking defensive lines with passes.
Setup:
3 Teams of 2
The aim of the game is for a team to make three passes in their section whilst being closed down by a player from the middle team.
Once 3 passes have been made the team with possession must try to break the line of defence (Middle team) and play the ball to the team on the other side of the field.
Keep going until middle team wins ball back and then swap.
Middle team becomes attacking team, attacking team becomes middle.
Different player presses each time
Progression:
Limit touches on ball to encourage quick decision making.

3v3 End Zone Game
Objective:
Apply breaking-the-lines concepts in a realistic, game-like setting.
Setup:
Set up a small-sided field (20x15 meters) end zones rather than goals. Teams of three compete against each other, with the focus on breaking through the defensive lines and successfully passing to a teammate in an endzone.
Progression:
Add restrictions like a limited number of touches or time constraints for passes, encouraging players to act quickly and decisively.

Passing and moving Rondo's
Objective:
Introduce the concept of passing the ball around opponents.
Setup:
Set up a grid 10x10 yards for players to pass and move in. One player will act as the defender and try to win the ball back whilst the other players will move around the grid to pass, receive and try to keep the ball.
Rotate defender every 1 minute
Progression:
Add a defender to the middle to make it harder to pass the ball and 'break the lines'
