PME: Attacking Principles - Wingers, Center Forward, Attacking Mid
Organization: 5 blue players vs 4 red and a GK. Blue attack big goal while the reds the two counter goals
Space: Full half of the field
Time: 4 repetitions per interval | 4 intervals with 2 min rest in between
Explanation: Attacking team has a front three of 2 wingers and a center forward an attacking midfielder and a Defensive Midfielder. 4 sequences that start with a 1v1 on the left side, a 2v2 in the center, a 1v1 on the right side and then a 4v4 with all attacking players. The first ball in each situation starts with the DCM who plays a long driven pass on the 1v1 and a short forward pass for the 2v2. For the 4v4 he can play the first pass to any of the players. Each time the defenders win the ball they need to score on the counter goals.
Target players are the 2 wingers, the center forward and the number 10.
Key Points: Wingers
Receive driven ball with a good first touch to set up for the 1v1
Attack the FB at speed and look to change speed and direction quick.
Try to create a separation from the FB enough to allow the shot on goal.
Based on position of the GK look to shoot on far post or near post.
Counter press if ball is lost to prevent goal on small goal behind.
