Session designed to be able to bring out the "Give and Go" combination in a format that provides constant contact and varying angles and scenarios
Key target Learning Outcomes:
-Identifcation of where/when to perform the give and go (2v1, space in behind) and who will initiate the action
-How to provide angle/body shape to perform a 1-2 with the players first touch
-Recognize the moment when the defender has committed towards the 2nd attacker, and what we can do to use them as a decoy "what if"

Organization -
Group Split into 3 groups
Instructions:
Blacks - Dribbling & practicing ball mastery techniques
White & Red - look to combine with the player on the outside, outside player now enters the grid to repeat the action to opposite target
Coaching Points
- Movement once passing to provide support to playing receiving ball to play a 1-2 (quick change from 1st attacker to 2nd attacker)
-Angle to play a 1 "flat" touch bounce pass into space
-Timing/shape of the run to be able to catch the return space in stride
- If you cannot combine, take touch into space (what do we see that makes us choose to not combine with 2nd attacker)

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
Same setup as previous, with the "black" team now without balls, and 2 counter goals
Instructions:
Black team is the defending team, black team is looking to steal the ball, and look to score in any of the counter goals. If black team scores, the attacking team loses all their points and starts at zero, once they get the ball out of the goal.
Attacking teams looking to combine and find 1 of their outside targets. Each time they are able to combine with their target and the target is able to enter the grid points are awarded.
1 pt for target entering in grid
2 pt if enter the grid via "give and go"
After set period of time roles are switched. Teams tally points
Coaching Points:
-
When- Identifcation of when to combine vs use the 2nd attacker as a "decoy" (Space in behind, defender commited to player in possession)
-Angle of support from 2nd attacker to allow for an obstructed line/ angle to be able to play with the first touch. "How does the shape and distance of the defender, influence how we support the ball?"

Ball Mastery
Organization:
10x10 box in center of area
4 players in blue area each with ball (black)
4 players in red/yellow. 1 color with a ball at feet
Instructions:
Red and Yellow working together
Yellow starts with ball at their feet in the center of the grid. Yellow dribbles to one of the outside plays and lays the ball off, and switches places with the player on the outside.
Players repeat the action, but must dribble through the center area and perform a move, prior to being able to switch with another player on the outside.
Every time the players switches with a player on the outside they get a point
Black dribbles inside of the center area, looking to perform various moves, and look to dribble through the gaps between 2 opposing players to get a point.
If players collide both players lose their points and start at zero.
After set period of time roles are switched.
Coaching Points:
-Positive touch to drive into space
-Head up to assess space
-Quality/ Timing of Move
