This session is to improve mental awareness and being switched on to react to changing situations throughout the game.

Robin Hood (10 mins)

Area:

Create area 10m x10m.

Equipment:

Balls, cones, discs or poles.

Objective:

Each team runs to the middle and dribbles a ball back to their team box.

Only one team member can enter the box at a time (no additional defenders) and take one ball from centre at time.

They high 5 their team mate who can then go and get a ball.

Once all balls from centre gone, can steal fom others. Run 2 minutes and the winning team is the team with the highest number of balls.

Play 3 times.

Station Hopping (10 mins)

Warm Up Drill

Each station is a different drill, complete the drill then dribble the ball to the next station Mix it fun with fitness).

When each player completes a circuit and returns to their home station, then they earn a point.

Station 1 - Rock, Paper Scissors

Station 2 - 3 push ups

Station 3 - 10 toe taps

Station 4 - 5 Sit-ups

Progression

* Odds go counter clockwise, Evens go clockwise. (Players have to watch where they are dribbling

* Pick a player in the opposite diagonal as an opposition player and try to catch them up (Tag) - Promotes player awareness)

Variation

Throw in a 5th station in the middle, challange the teams to get into the middle and sit down once all stations are completed (3 times). Winners are first to finish. - Gets all the team together , sat down to allow the coach to talk through the next part of the session / previous game etc.
