Opposed situational play
- Begin exercise by trying to play the ball from one end of the pitch to the other without the opposition trying to win the ball, players in the final third are allowed 3 seconds with the ball before opponents can press, this allows them to create a picture in the midfield third, (up, set and through)
- Midfield to be coached to keep the ball for as little as possible, can they link to make the ball travel through them as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
- Progress into overloading team out of possession to conrol the ball.
- (Attacking team +3)
- Three teams, each team takes it in turns to be the 'defending team' for a period of 4 minutes, timescle given to retrieve possession and score in any given goal.
- Rotation of defending teams. Attacking team score a point by playing GK to GK and also passing the ball through the middle section of the pitch. Touch on importance of mid block and how we want to be defending centrally.

Transition 2
- Team in middle zone (orange) begin with possession.
- Aim to beat defenders (green) to score a goal.
- Upon completion of the phase of play, goal or not, the orange team will become the defending team and the blue team become the attacking team
- Greens will move off the pitch and will become team ready to attack (Once blue transition)

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Transition 3
- Players split into three teams
- Central team (oranges on screen) to attack defenders (greens)
- If greens win the ball, they will transition and attack vs the blue team at the opposite goal
- If the oranges score, coach feeds the ball back into the centre and the oranges will attack opposite goal (blues defending)
- Encourage width of passing, varied movement, importance of not standing in a line, playing between the lines, decoy runs (sacrifices)
Progression - If attacking team that have just lost possession can press and win the ball in the final third, they have the opportunity to score once again
