Organization:
- 40x30 area
- Players in pairs
- Each pair playing against an opposing pair
Instructions:
1v1 Ladder
- Play 1v1 against opponents, looking to dribble ball across opposition end line. Players work through various scenarios as to how they start the dribble:
- 1. Attacker starts with ball and dribbles out to 1v1.Defender can pressure on attackers first touch.
- 2. Attacker receives ball from team mate before taking on defender. Defender can pressure as soon as pass is made.
- 3. Attacker and defender start at attackers end line, with defender facing away from attacker. Attacker plays ball through defenders legs to receive on other side and dribble to opponents end line. Defender makes recovery run to stop attacker.
- Players rotate with partner after play ends. Attacker and defender roles rotate each turn.
Coaching Points:
- Awarness of space between you and defender
- Open body shape when receiving the ball
- How can you deny/block defenders recovery run?
- Creativity to get past defender

Organization:
- 40x30 area, split into 2 fields
- 3v3 on each field
- No Gk's
Instructions:
- Players play small sided scrimmage, with the stipulation that player with the ball can not pass forwards. Attackers can only advance with the ball by dribbling.
Coaching Points:
- How can you support your team mate on the ball?
- Awarness of surroundings - number of defenders in your path.
- Postive attacking mindset during 1v1 opportunities

Ball Mastery (10 mins)
Organization:
- 40x20 area
- Players in pairs
- Ball per pair
Instructions:
- Players pass and move around area. On coaches call of "Battle" player with the soccer ball looks to keep possession, while opponent looks to steal ball. Play will last for 10 seconds before coaches call of "Freeze". If player in possession kept ball they receive 2 points. If defender steals ball and keeps possession they receive 1 point.
Coaching Points:
- Direction/weight of first touch
- Head up to identify new space to drive into
- Mindset - do we run away from defender or take them on?
Progressions:
- Increase time to challenge players to keep ball for longer
