Title: 2 & 3 - Final 1/3 - Option 1 (8:05 - 8:25)
Aim: Put 2/3 in a setting where their role to provide width in the final third is clearly defined while giving them options on the ball within this phase.
Sub Prin: 9's movement. Checking to the ball versus running in behind.
Organization: Three serves - 2,3,6 circulate the ball until they can find opponents feet with their back to goal. Ball is set back to 8. Looks to pass between the gap.
Coaching Script / Plan for Failure:
8:08 - 2/3 will fail to dribble to attract their opponent before connecting to 9's feet. Discuss why this is important as it one creates space in behind & two prevents the full back doubling up on our 9.
8:12 - 2/3 will fail to run into the space behind in attempt to get into the crossing zone - Discuss our goals (victoria, Gabby, Brooke - all came from services from the crossing zone) Once they play the ball into the strikers feet there must be a change of speed to get behind their opponent.
8:16 - 9 will turn over possession by not using her body or attempting to play one touch. Discuss how vital this moment, how to use your body to protect the ball, how to control the ball while expecting contact from the defender in attempt to keep possession.
8:20 - 10 & weakside 9 will fail to read each others run's / body language - Discuss why it's important for the opposite 9 to attack the space between the back post & the PK spot, the

Title: 2 & 3 - Final 1/3 - Option 2 (8:25 - 8:45)
Aim: Put 2/3 in a setting where their role to provide width in the final third is clearly defined while giving them options on the ball within this phase.
Sub Prin: 9's movement. Checking to the ball versus running in behind.
Organization: Three serves - 2,3,6 circulate the ball until 2/3 dribble forward to attract opponent. 8 looks to combine with a wall pass. 9 curls away to create space for the wall pass. Other 9 attacks near post. 10 Runs to the PK spot. 2 Gets to the end line & corner of 18.
8:30 - 2/3 will fail to dribble to attract their opponent before connecting to 8's feet. Discuss why this is important as it one creates space in behind to get into the crossing zone.
8:34 - 2/3 will fail to run into the space behind in attempt to get into the crossing zone - Discuss our goals (victoria, Gabby, Brooke - all came from services from the crossing zone) Once they play the ball into the strikers feet there must be a change of speed to get behind their opponent.
8:38 - 9 will fail to recognize the situation and will check to the ball crowding the space and blocking the channel - Discuss curving her run to the back post & discuss the situation of when the 9 should run into the channel.

Finishing in the box
(7:50 - 8:05)
Notes: Discuss importance of deception in the box, having composure and taking your chances in the box. Last two games away at Dortmund, scored 4, conceded zero.
Aim / Time: Put players in a setting where they are using deception to shoot inside the box. (Warm Up 5) minutes (15) minutes)
Activity / Organization: Players Play 1v1 plus bumpers within the box, bumpers inside the box have two touches (only play with their team) bumpers outside have one touch and are neutral. Four shots each total.
Coaching Script / Plan for Failure:
7:52 - Players will fail to shoot quickly when they have a clear sight of goal / coach 'if they ball has eyes' look to shoot & score. Discuss using deception to create half a yard to use the inside of your foot to pass the ball into the back of the net.
7:55 - Players will fail to get across their man & attack the space at the front & back post before the ball is served / coach recognizing the moment of when the ball is going to be served in order to get away from your opponent to attack the ball in the box.
8:00 - Players will fail to hit the target when finishing the ball first time / coach landing on your striking foot with your hips & shoulders facing the goal.
