Shooting with two attacking players.
Objective: Warm up the front three with shooting technique, movement, & awareness.
A and B are attackers and C is a defender
Rules:
1) A drives at C; and B opens up from being man marked by C. A has option to play B for give and go or take C and go outside with shot. If A plays B, B has option to lay it back off for give and go or open up her hips to receive and shoot or let it run across her to shoot.
*While Shot is being taken; Two Attackers crash the goal in case of rebound.
2) D will have a ball ready and play to one of the two attackers who just attacked for a 2v1. Server who played does not act as an option.
*they need to be onside.
-attackers have 6 seconds to finish their opportunity for each sequence
Scoring:
1 point for both attackers if they score.
1 point for defender if goal is not scored on
2 points if they score on small goal
Rotation: if small numbers > A goes to B, B goes to C, C goes to A
if big numbers: the three switch out and three new ones come on playing a different role.
Optional:
3) A drives a C, B drifts wide at the beginning and C follows her. Then B makes a diagonal run in behind C. A has option to play B (if C doesn't follow run) or take it herself (if C follows run). If A plays B, B has option to shoot or play A who continues her run to the Penality box.
*While Shot is being taken; Two Attackers crash the goal.
4) Switch to other side
Coaching Points: Timing of runs, good decision making, dynamic runs, for option 3: if ball is too late then must bend your run.
