Technical: Passing Rondos (20 mins)

Organisation:

  • 20x20 square with 4 goals on outside corners

(A) Aim:

  • Outside (Red) players keep possession away from inside (Blue)
  • Red 5 Passes = 1 Goal
  • If Blue wins possession immediately try to score in one of the four goals

(B) Behaviour:

  • Sharp passing on outside
  • Inside press as a unit

(C) Condition:

  • Outside 2 Touch - Progression to one touch

(D) Distribution:

  • From Coach if balls goes dead

Skill: Using Width & Depth to Attack (20 mins)

Organisation:

  • Half Pitch
  • 1 x Main Goal;  2 x small Goals on Half-way
  • 6 Red (Attack) vs 4 Blue (Defence)

(A) Aim:

  • Red have to make 5 passes inside the space near half-way before playing or dribbling wide around a cone. Then Red must play into the strikers feet before attempting to score.
  • If Blue win possession, they score in either small goal on half-way.

(B) Behaviour:

  • Red, can they anticipate the 5th pass to get wide early? 

(C) Condition:

  • Red must play into the strikers feet before attempting to score. 
  • Blue defender cannot tackle until after striker's first touch.

(D) Distribution:

  • From coach on half-way

(Synchronised) Key terminology:

  • Red  "Get it wide"  
  • Blue  "Can we score?"

Small-Sided Game (20 mins)

Organisation:

  • Three-Quarter pitch, tapered
  • 9 Red (Attack) vs 8 Blue (Defence)

(A) Aim:

  • Encourage Red to attack from Deep in Wide areas

(B) Behaviour:

  • Get the ball forward early into Striker

(C) Condition:

  • Blue 3 Goals if score via forward pass into striker; 1 Goal if general play
  • Red 3 Goals if score after winning possession

(D) Distribution:

  • From Goalkeepers

  • Play Forward
  • Can we score?
