General Principles:
1. 1st & 2nd Role of Defending (Immediate Pressure/ Cover).
2. Defending Technique (Angle of approach - Remain Side-on to dicitate play into one direction).
Team Tactical Principles:
1. Force opposition wide or back by compacting central zone. Prevent switching play and close your opponent in one part
of the pitch. Press in wide areas to force play to midfield.
2. Players away from the ball – stay close to each other, be compact and balanced. Act as a Unit.
Individual Objectives:
1. Work with the #9 & #10 in their ability to intercgange pressure when ball is switched.
2. Work with #7 & #11 on their angle of approach when shifting and pressing wide areas.

3. Group of players (6 Players Per Station)
Instructions:
1. Players will work on the ability to apply the defensive principles (Pressure/Cover) in a situational game scenario.
2. Players on the outside (Orange) will start by serving the ball into the attacking group.
3. Defending Team (Yellow) will start behind the line and apply pressure passively.
4. Attacking Team (Black) will work the ball around, so both defending player can work on the concept.
5. Once completed, Orange (Server) will serve the ball into the opposite direction, so the opposite can work on the defending concept.
Coaching Points:
1. 1st & 2nd Role of Defending (Immediate Pressure/ Cover).
2. Defending Technique (Angle of approach - Remain Side-on to dicitate play into one direction).
3. Remain Compacted when closing the space as a unit ("Don't get outstretched")
4. Ability to work and communicating as a unit when defending ( " I GOT Ball" / FORCE PLAY WIDE" / DON'T LET HIM OUT")

Organization:
1. Set up as shown (30x25yds)
2. Grid is divided as shown.
3. 12 players per grid.
4. FOUR INTERVALS OF 3 minutes/30 sec rest
Instructions:
PART 1:
1. Players play 4v4+2. Players must stay in their defensive zone (grid).
2. Team in possession looks to pass the ball within teammates while attempting to reach TWO target players in opposite zone. If ball is played to target players they must play one touch to score in goals.
3. Play restarts with scoring team.
4. If defending team wins possession of the ball they look to play TWO target players on the opposite zone to score on goals.
Coaching Points:
1. Immediate pressure, cover & balance. Ability to lead teammate next to you to perform his/her responsability.
2. Ability to force play wide to deny pass to target players.
3. Ability to fully compact defensive area (closest to the ball), visual cue will be to leave furthest quadrant open. (PART 2)
4. STAY CONNECTED: Denying penetration or switch of play is the ultimate goal.

THREE INTERVALS OF 2 MINUTES/ 3O SEC REST. (4v2+1)

Instructions:
1. Players will be involved in part 1: 4v2+ ONE & part 2: 5v2 + TWO rondo activities.
2. Objective: Players retain possession and look to complete 10 passes.
3. If players complete 5 passes on a row without losing possession, they are able to play ball to opposite target.
3. Dynamic Stretches will included during the warm up.

2. Accuracy & Pace of pass.
3. Supporting player on the ball (correct angles & passing lanes)
