Set Up: Use a 20*15 area (may need to adjust size of area based on developmental level of players).
The attacking team is on the outisde (red in this diagram) while the blue team defends. Both teams have four players. There are also three neutral players (two targets and one central). Team in possession try to move the ball from one target player to the other.
If the defending team (blue) wins the ball they become the attackers and must now position themselves on the outside while the red team would now become the defenders and position themselves centrally.
Coaching Points:
- Always try to have open body stance when in possession to aid faster speed of play when in possession
(Less of a focus on recovery day)
- Whenever ball is lost team must make quick transition to win the ball back starting with player that is closest to ball. All players must react quickly
- Immediately after losing possession players should try to get the ball back before the other team has a chance to get organized

Set Up: Using an area as shown in the diagram play 5v5 play 4 neutral players on the outside. Each team has 4 outfield players and one goalkeeper.
Teams in the middle play 2-1-1 (adjust for different teams/systems) with 2 pivot midfielders, 1 attacking mid and 1 striker. The neutral players represnet 2 wingers and 2 outide backs. Ball must be played to one neutral player before team in possession can score.
First team that concedes 2 goals become neutral players on the outside. Neutral players are not allowed to play other neutral payers.
Coaching Points:
- Move ball quickly to unbalace opponent
- Quick incisive movement to create space for scoring chance
- Be patient and keep possession until you are able to creaet an opening

3 Team possession (15 mins)
Set up: 20x20 area. Divide players into three teams. Each team has a ball.
Two of the teams are inside the grid keeping possession.
One team is spread out around the outside of the area trying to keep possession, but each pass must go through some part of the grid (see red team in diagram). Encourage the team on the outside to try to play directly across the grid along the ground when its possible.
