Week 1 of Defending. Focus on individual defensive skills and understanding, defending is hard work

Organization (10x15 yards): Attackers take on defender and pass to team mate on far side who tries to take on defender and play to opposite side. If the defender wins it they must play out to their team mates. Player who lost the ball stays in the middle to defend. Players must remain within gates when receiving pass.
Coaching Points:
-Angle of approach, defensive stance nice and low,
quality pass to teamamtes finding the transitional pass
-Cutting off space to reduce the field, forcing to weaker side
-when defenders win the ball can thry quickly pass out to teammates
-to quickly defend again when beaten, staying with the player if they beat you

-if the defenders win the ball , they now become the attackers, again working for 90 seconds.
