Teaching the forward dive
This progression on the warm up activity would only be done for a few min to add in handling and advancing on the footwork to move forward and set before making save or diving forward to attack the ball.
Organization: 3yrd triangle
Instructions:
1)
-Gk Sprints through triangle, Move around Cone
-Set Position
-Receive Ball
-Repeat Opposite side
2)
-Gk Sprint to cone and Sets (S)
-Move Across
-Set for serve
-Repeat Both Sides
3)
- GK Sprints to Cone and Sets (S)
- GK Back Peddle to back of Traingle
-Set For Serve
-Repeat Both Sides
Coaching Points:
1 - GK Should always be Active and ready (Balls of feet)
2 - Quick and Balanced Movement
3 - Get in Position Quickly (Ball Line and with Server)
4 - Timing of Set (Set In Time to receive, don't move when player is striking)
5 - Keep Body Weight Balanced and Forward
6 - Handling Technqiue (Basket/'W')
7 - Hold Save for 1 Second

Teaching the forward dive
Simple Warm Up activity to get the muscle memory of the forward dive and to attack the ball.
*Use cone to give visual cue for GK to go towards the ball*
Des Drill
GK lays on side in correct dive position. Player will be moving upper body up and down (on side/correct dive position) Coach will serve ball to right first then left after set reps (usually 8-10) Player will catch ball in front of red cone then move upper body up keeping in dive position as coach plays another ball.
Coaching Points:
-Hands in front of body
-GK will end up going to ball
-Legs do not end up closer to server than hands
-Correct hand position (3 hands 1 behind/1 on top/1 is the ground)
-Eyes looking through hands (Head behind Hands and can look through to ball)
Progressions:
On knees (same basic activity with different starting body shape)

Teaching the forward dive
Increase the speed and decision making to reset the body position to dive. Focus will be more on attacking the ball and diving forward. Hands in front of feet. Stepping diagonally forward with correct foot. Ball played to right hand side, right foot steps towards ball. Body position as body goes to ground and shape of hands.

1 ball per GK
4 cones
Instructions:
GK's start with ball, roll ball to start activity to coach, coach plays ball to either cone, GK dives to make save. Next player continues, GK joins back of line.
Coaching Points:
1. Perception
2. Position in front of ball
3. Both feet facing the ball and on the ground
4. Dive and decision making as the ball travels
5. Position the hands behind the ball
Progressions:
GK's now pass the ball from their feet to coach.

Goalkeepers will work on footwork and movement to save ball. Simple warm up activity to focus on set technique and proper movement to save shot.
Organization: 5 cones, 1yrd apart, 3yrd Triangle
Instructions:

-Sprint to Triange... Set Position at S1
-Sprint to opposite cone and Set again at S2
-Back peddle to start
