COACHING POINTS:

- Be patient. Shift side to side to close gaps

- Get a shape with higher pressure, lower pressure, squeezing.

- Trigger is #2/3

- #9 dictate outside to slow down attack (don't dive in and get beat, deny the switch and force to one side).

4V2 Rondo (15 mins)

4v2 in each box with a ball on the cone (you can do more if you have bigger numbers)

Green looks to win the ball from Red. Red looks to knock the ball off the cone. If you lose the ball you are in the middle

On the coaches whistle, the player in the middle rotate clockwise and look to counter press and win the ball right away.

Blow the whistle every 30 seconds

Focus on-

- Protect the middle, be patient

- As we transition, one player delay and the other protect the middle space

6v3 Rondo (20 mins)

6v3 Rondo, with transition. The middle 3 red win the ball they must transfer the ball over and try and play through the middle zone for points. Green has to transition and defend

FOCUS ON-

- Before pressing - get organized centrally

- Narrow & Compact - Cut Split Pass

- When you press to win the ball; move as a group and make sure you are pressing into your cover.

7v7 Controlled Press (20 mins)

4 Zones

4 Red in bottom 1/4 and 3 attackers in middle 1/4

4 Green in bottom 1/4 and 3 attackers in middle 1/4

6 small goals (you can replace them with a large goal on each end if you have access to them and you have 2 goalies)

Red is attacking east

Green is attacking west

Red looks to pass into the next group of 4 and score on the 3 goals

You are locked to your zone

Green must stay in there own zone and defend either the small goals or the zones

To start focus on a low block, no press. Defending green as shown above drop off force them to play a ball into the middle player checking. Keep back turned, dont let them face forward.

Progression: Press 1 into the final third to win the ball after you lose it.Press 2 into the final third to win the ball after you lose it.
