Football Problem
Team is allowing the opposition time and space to build up in our back third
Session Objective
Improve the understanding of the players to make better decisions when denying the opposition to build up in our back third
Organisation
Two teams of 3 V 2 with two neutral and two GKs. Pitch divided into three grids as shown in the diagram
The red team must play the ball into all grids before moving the ball to the opposite keeper. The nuetral player has two seconds to move the ball into the next zone due to limited numbers and to replicate limited time in a game situation. the blue team must work together to try and cut off the forward passes into the next zone. if they win the ball they are to play it to the closest keeper to receive a point. The blue team can only progress into the middle zone to defend once the nuetral has the ball. The nuetral player is on the team in BP
Progression
The defending team will be rewarded with a goal if they can deny the ball to be played into the opposite grid for 6 seconds. The attacking team to be limited to two touches
Team Task
Defending team team must try to deny the opposition from playing the ball into the opposite grid
Team in possession try to build up and play the ball into the opposite grid
