Back Four players #2-5 will defend the Big goal from the Att players who are trying to score a goal. All players are restricted to their designated area of the defending third. Def score by passing ball to coach at top of the playing area.Restart play if goal is scored/ball out of play.
Coaching Points:
1. Spacing b/w each player to control the space (compactness)
2. Anticipation from players to "read the game"
3. Communication among line - when to move vertically and horizontially
4. Principles of defending (pressure, cover, balance, control, restraint)

12-14+ players (8 att vs 7 def), 1/2 field - 2/3 field w/ Big goal and 2 Small goals, 1 ball (extras behing small goals) --
27 min activity (7:2 work/rest ratio, 3 sets), High intensity
Def team will line up with 1-4-2 formation, Att team 2-4-2. Def team will score in either of two small goals, Att will score in Big goal. Line of cones represents Offsides lines for Att team.

Stage I
4+ players, two grids of 15Wx10L, 1 ball/group (extras behind) --
15 min activity (4:1 work/rest ratio, 3 sets), Low-Medium intensity
Player A passes ball to Player B then closes the ball as Def. Player B will receive & dribble the ball to the line while being shadowed by the def Player A. Player B will lay the ball off to Player A when they reach the line. Player A will pass the ball diagonal to the next Att. Players A and B will switch lines after completion. The next group of players will start once receving diagonal pass (defender closes space of Att on diagonal pass).
Progression: 1v1 play in each grid; player must dribble through opponent endline w/ ball= 1 pt
Coaching Points
1. Restrict the space of Att w/ speed (quick to press, step on brakes)
2. Principles of defending for 1st defender (pressure)
3. Proper balance of body (light on toes, show to 1 direction)
