Footwork and Diving Exercise
GK to take side steps and touch cone
Once touched GK receives diving low serve from coach. Leaves ball on floor
GK pushes up and moves forward onto next cone
Repeat diving technique
Coach moves further back after each serve

Work with 3, 2, or 1 GK
-GK quick feet around manniquin and set for volley from Coach in front 4 yd goal.
6 Reps - 3 each way for each GK
Progressions
1-GK touches both back markers with hands and comes through for volley x6
2-GK touches both front markers with hands and sets for volley x6
3-GK spins off around one back marker, then in around manniquin and sets for a Half volley x6
4-Extra GK's become servers. GK takes a step & dives to save and hold between back marker and front post on each side, and then up quickly around manniquin for a strike from ground x6

Variation of drills if you want to switch it up
Start at back cone, get forward around front cone, and dive to opposit cone...Repeat 3 times and switch sides

OVER THE HURDLE AND SAVE
ORGANIZATON/EQUIPMENT NEEDS
Full size goal accordingly to the game model age group
1 pole and 1 hurdle,(preferable 12 inches high)
Soccer balls
1 manequin
DESCRIPTION
Set up the hurdle close to the middle of the goal line (about 2 to 3 feet away from the post) as the diagram above
Set up 1 pole diagonal from the hurdle, about 5 yards away from the hurdle.
The GK starting in the middle between the hurdle and the pole, behind the manequin, and have 1 ball at his/her hands.
The Gk will roll the ball to the server or coach, the server or the coach will pass the ball to the nearest post, forcing the GK to react by jump over the hurdle and making the save at the near post.
As he/she makes the save, he/he will roll the ball back to the coach or server, that them will play the ball at the far pole, so the GK will repeat the jump over the hurdle and save the ball at the opposite side. (5 reps at each side) than rotate the GKs.
PROGRESSION
The GK will jump three consecutive time over the hurdle, instead of once, prior to the server or coach serve the ball.
COACHING POINTS
Start close to the goal line
Try to get in front of the post always, always step diagonaly to the post or pole after the hurdle jump
