First Half Positives:
Oneof the most outstanding performances I have seen from coaching agirls team in this club. Every player was alert on and off the ball. The Reign dominated the first 10 minutes of the game as the ball wasalways in the opponents half. The players on this team have a passingmentality as the 1stattacker always dribbles up the field, but then it is always seekinga teammate to connect. Players are starting to be demanding of theball as they are calling out the players name or saying “ball”!Only would 1-2 players are still booting the ball up the field aseveryone else is one always securing their first touch thenattempting to make a decision. What impressed me the most is thediscipline of playing their positions. The mobility was impressive as players are understanding to utilize space for each other. For the first time I did nothave the demand the #9 to stay up and provide length. Or for wideplayers to give width. Everyone was staying in their zones and alwaysproviding support to the 1stattacker. Multiple goals were scored by impressive ball control andtenacious ball wining mentality.
First Half Challenges:

Second Half Positives:
Theplayers outdid themselves as they built on what was successful on thefirst half and multiplied their success. For the first time playerswere attempting 1-2’s and short-short long passing combinations. Isaw 3 successful 1-2’s in the defensive and middle third performedby our wide players with a central player checking in. Players werealso showcasing their 1v1 skill moves as a I saw multiple pullbacks,V turns and inside/outside to dust defenders. Players are approaching defenders at an angle then quickly changing direction to easily beat their opponents. They are also dribbling at game speed with proper dribbling technique with their head up. It was a pleasure to see them dominate the opposition with technique and determination as it was inspiring confidence to combine with each other.
Thereis a still a hesitation from defenders to support the attackespecially when ball is in the opponents final third. They like tostick around the halfway line in a static line giving the oppositionplenty of space if a counter attack were to occurred. Our build outplay is still shaky as our GK takes a long time to set up the goalkicks when she recovers the ball. Although she possesses good passingability in her technique. She struggles where to play the ball asmultiple times the ball was given away as she kept trying to find ourcentral players.
