Pressing River

In this Possession/Pressing style rondo the objective is to build on the pressing players' decision-making after winning the ball off the press. The pressing team has two options after winning the ball, create a goal-scoring opportunity and risk losing possession or Retain possesion by finding a backward pass. This will be a recurring theme in this session. 

Balls will Be served in by the coach on the side 

Pressing team objective 

- Win the ball and either try and risk it and score on  goal or retain possession, if the pressing team opts to go for goal and does not score they must reset and set 2 new players in to press 

Team in possession 

- connect 5 passes and transfer the ball to the opposite grid for a point 

How to win 

scoring a goal is worth 1 point 

connecting 5 passes and transferring is 1 point 

First team to 6 points wins 

There will be 3 teams of 5

Animation 2

This Pressing activitys objective is to work on the teams ability to win the ball off the oposition and make a good decision on retaining possession or creating a goal-scoring opportunities.  

Game rules 

Pressing team (Blue) 

- 5 attacking Blue players will set up in zone 2 and release to press in our style to try and regain possession of the ball. Upon winning the ball they must drop the ball back to zone 1 to escape the pressure and retain possession. Getting the ball into zone 1 unlocks the goal 

-The 8 and 10 are looking to block the passing lane to the oppositions 8 and 10 that are locked in zone 2. The pressing teams 6 must ensure to either win the ball or foul  the opositions 8 or 10 if they  recieve the ball.

Defending team 

The defending team's objective is to try and score on the two mini-goals at half-field The 8 and 10 for red are locked into Zone 2 until they receive the ball however they are not allowed in zone 3 ever 

the first 2  Blocks  of 5 min will be to let the boys understand the topic 

The following 5 blocks will be a best of 5, if the defending team wins the ball and scores a goal it subtracts a point from the attacking tally. 

35 min in total.

Conditioned small sided game 

Regular game before either team can score they must find the neutral players feet  pressing team in blue non pressing in red. 

5 min blocks for the remainder of the session to apply the topic if does not go well switch to no conditions.
