1) What if?

If the CB is able to pass it to the other CB:

Explanation: (In this case)

The ST now blocks the passing lane to the other CB and makes the press. The RW stays compact and forces play wide and as the ball is passed to the FB he then presses again showing wide. In the mean time the whole team reshuffles and makes the pitch compact, leaving the furthest man away (in this case the red RB) and hence stopping the switch.

Save Image: Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): 2)What if? Create Video:

2)What if?

The screen (number 6) of the red team is able to get on the ball.

Explanation: (in this case)

The (yellow) CAM closest to the player on the ball closes him down and shows him wide. During this time the front 3 have to make thier way back and get behind the ball while trying to make sure he is not able to pass the ball back to the (red) CBs. The whole (yellow) team shuffles and forces the ball to go wide and stop switch).
