(all drills can be low, mid, or extension dives)
1- diving activation- gk starts laying on hip, server passes ball for gk to dive and attack with their hands. good warm up exercise before live shots or more advanced diving
2- shuffle to dive- gk sets in between two cones- servers says go and gk shuffles once to outside of the cone before diving to the ball- shuffling will allow gk to cover more ground and produce a greater spring in the dive
3- half turn to dive- gk starts on half turn- servers says go and gk turns in and sets inline with server, gk then dives to either side server plays it- important the gk gets set before diving
4- double diving- server plays ball to either side for gk to dive and save- gk gets up and gets rid of first ball server then plays another ball to same side but further to that side for gk to dive again- important server allows gk to re stand and set before 2nd ball

live shooting: 1) shoot on gk live from central (at and around gk) have gk get rid of ball and set on the cone facing outward- 2) server travels over to second ball on angle, say go and the gk must travel and set inline with the server who shoots ball live

live shots on angles:
1) gk starts on post cutback position, server says go, gk sets inline for live shot
2) after saving ball 1 gk sets on cone, central advanced position, servers says go and strikes second ball from similar angle for live shot

live shots: rapid fire, let gk get up and set after each ball- vary the shots
can also do same exercise on angles
make it competitive: server vs gk

live crossing: different angles
important for coach to vary angles for gk to adjust positioning: gk needs to think about- wind, inswinger or outswinger, distance server is from goal to determine starting position
gk can also work on distribution back to server after collecting the cross: throw, kick from floor, kick from hands, etc.
