Description

  • Method: Positional play 5 v 5 + 3

Coaching Points:

  • Set up 15 x 15 grid, 3 blues, 3 reds and 3 green neutrals. Neutrals play with team in possession.
  • Blues aim to get 5 passes then switch to either wide player who attacks the goals on the switch of play.
  • If reds win the ball they transition straight away, playing the ball to the red wide players who attempt to score.
  • Rotate roles.
  • Looking for quick passing, movement, angles to receive, weighted pass and aggressive attacking from wide players.
Progression:
  • Central players can attack/defend the box on the switch of play.
  • On the switch of play opposite player can defend the cross.
