Organization: 4 Red vs 3 Blue. One cone on the middle of each side to set start point for dribble-ins. Extra balls at the dribble in spots.
Instructions:
Red will take a dribble-in off the side using the skills demonstrated in the warm-up (shielding, run-on passes, shift in direction) to establish possession and make an attempt on goal. Red can start as soon as they place the ball in front of the cone. Blue will oppose and can try to score on pug nets. If ball goes out or goal is scored, restart at the opposite side with players off the pitch rotating through blue and red sides.
Coaching Points: 1. The speed of the setup is part of a winning strategy to beat the defenders. 2. Encourage the players to fake direction of running off the ball to start the play to lose coverage. 3. Encourage the dribble in player to look to be an open pass right after their dribble in.Progression: Add a Blue to make more difficult or add a Red to make easier.

Organization: Half field practice with Red full team and Blue 3 Defenders and a Keeper. Extra balls at the corners.
Instructions: Players start in the marked positions. The corner taker is told to communicate their intent to deliver the ball by raising his hand. Corners will be taken from both sides and players will rotate through the positions with the left Defender taking the left side kick and the right Defender taking the right side kick. If ball goes out or a goal is scored, we restart on the other side corner. Players in the line will have to quickly call in their group quietly where they are going to (short post, long post, middle). They will time their run to start 2 seconds after the motion by the corner kicker. Blue can score on pug nets to end play.
Coaching Points: 1. Reinforce that timing of the runs and corner kick are the key to this exercise. 2. On option 1 the corner-taking fullback is encouraged to make an overlapping run and become a shooting option (otherwise return to Defence position), #2 Red attacks the net either option. 3. Players in the lineup should look to either score on Option 2 or to find a rebound on Option 1.
Progression: Add opposition defence players.

Warmup: Speedy Dribble-ins (15 mins)
Organization: Divide players into groups of three. Put 8 cones down on each touch line equidistant to each other. Each cone will be a station for a dribble in. Put the cones just off the pitch so they don't interfere with the dribble in.
Instructions:
Red and Blue are going to race to the end of the stations and coach will call out the winner by following the play. The race ends at the last successful possession on the last cone. Red/Blue #1 on each side will dribble in to Red/Blue #2 while Red/Blue #3 will be trying to intercept the play. The players have completed the station when Red/Blue #2 has the ball at their feet in possession. Coach calls the play complete. #1 and #2 rotate each dribble in, #3 rotates with (#1 or #2) when his opposition reaches half. Players rotate each throw in through the roles of #1, #2, #3. Coach calls the winner at the end. Winning team stays on to face the next opposition. All players will do a rondo in the penalty area. If we have 12 players, we will run them at the same time once one team gets to have (one coach per challenge) QUICK DEMO: 1. Pass ahead for run-on, 2. Shield position to receive, 3. Switch direction.
Coaching Points (overtop coaching): 1. The speed of the setup is part of a winning strategy to beat the defender. 2. Technique: Run on pass ahead 3. Technique: shield position with back to the opposing player. 4. Technique: quick switch in direction to receive
Progression: No progressions.
